What was the last CD you purchased? Local Portland band turned Indie-favorite The Decemberists. Don't buy much music anymore though. Trying to save money and all.
Did you like it? Yes. Sixteen Military Wives is particularly catchy and thought provoking.
Is it the kind of music you would call your favorite? It's in the realm of my favorite. My taste is somewhat eclectic, but leans more towards the "indie" and "alternative" genre, particularly the more socially conscious type.
What was the first album (CD for you youngsters) you ever owned? Chipmunk Punk. On Vinyl.
And what was your favorite cut from that recording?
My Sharona!

Alvin & the gang covered My Sharona?!?!?!?! *LMAO* Where have I been?
1980. And I believe Call Me by Blondie.
I'm still mad at myself for selling that record at a garage sale!!
Yes, Talmida, they did both. And Susan Rose, you can probably find it on CD SOMEWHERE.
I love 'We Both Go Down Together.' I got the album - er, CD - because of that song. The rest didn't particularly grab me firmly, but I love the dark, Edward Gorey-esque feeling of it overall.
Don't think I remember my first LP, but I do know that my first 45 was 'Silly Love Songs' by Wings. Which, as a matter of fact, I listened to today (on CD, not record!
My first album was the first Partridge Family record.
*blushes furiously and hangs head in shame*
I was somewhat redeemed in 7th grade when I saved up my allowance and bought a copy of Elton John's self-titled album. Your Song can still make me cry.
talmida, I fear that was my first, too. All day long I have been thinking it was The Beatles' White Album, but no, it was The Partridge Family. I feel so dirty!
I like the Partridge Family! As a tv show, not really as music but I forgive you just the same!
