she is readily perceived by those who love her

Resplendent and unfading is wisdom,
and she is readily perceived by those who love her,
and found by those who seek her.
She hastens to make herself known in anticipation of their desire;
Whoever watches for her at dawn shall not be disappointed,
for he shall find her sitting by his gate.
For taking thought of wisdom is the perfection of prudence,
and whoever for her sake keeps vigil
shall quickly be free from care;
because she makes her own rounds, seeking those worthy of her,
and graciously appears to them in the ways,
and meets them with all solicitude.
(Wisdom 6:12-16)

I love it when the lectionary includes the Book of Wisdom. This weekend in our closing prayer we all received a gift bag to take with us on our respective "journeys." It included a book of quotes by our founder Margaret Anna Cusack, a few other odds and ends, and two stones. My stone said "wisdom." I couldn't imagine a greater gift.

I often pray for wisdom. I love the imagery of this reading. Wisdom readily makes her rounds. Dr. Wisdom to the rescue!

I had mass with the CVI's at their convent this morning. I love Sr. C, their Vocation Director. I told her that if I were to look up "wisdom" in the dictionary, I was sure that I'd find her picture there.
