Occasional musings of a Generation X Sister of St. Joseph of Peace. Read along as I live into a life of love and service as a modern day Catholic Sister (aka "nun") and continue to discern my call to "act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with God."

and then there were three
This just in .... my friend Chero has also been accepted to the groovy sister Novitiate! She found out this weekend at our Jubilee celebrations (this picture was taken about 20 minutes before she found out). Sr. Sheila gave her the news at the Jubilee reception. She will join yours truly and our East Coast groovy friend Sue in the Novitiate in Jersey come September. So wonderful to have companions on the journey. For the last few years our novitiates have had one person at a time ....

That would be kinda cool... As far as I know (if I get accepted), I'll likely be flying solo as a candidate. But I am glad of the collaborative inter-congregational novitiate in St. Louis.
Ahhh .... company is cool. As long as it's cool company, anyway. I had company, and then I didn't. It's managable either way.
Good luck to you all!
Luckily I really like the other two in my group and have had a chance to get to know them. Of course after living together in a small space for a year I'm sure we'll drive each other crazy in some aspects!!
The best thing about having a group from my perspective is that it shows that yes, people do actually do this!!! Maybe folks who are wondering or having those persistent thoughts might be more inclined to take the plunge??
Oh yeah ... we'll be in an inter-congregational program as well in New York. Should give the chance to meet lots more folks crazy enough to follow that Jesus guy!!
