Occasional musings of a Generation X Sister of St. Joseph of Peace. Read along as I live into a life of love and service as a modern day Catholic Sister (aka "nun") and continue to discern my call to "act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with God."
Realistic and grounded, you have the energy to tackle any obstacle that stands in your way. Hyper and driven, you despise lazy behavior of all kinds...
Cinco de Mayo is a big holiday for Mexican Americans. I think it commemorates some battle or other, but just like Irish Americans celebrate St Patrick's Day but for actual Irish it's not a big day except as a holy day, Cinco de Mayo is a day to eat Mexican food, listen to good music and generally have fun and celebrate all things Mexican.
In my town of Portland there's a big festival all weekend on the waterfront including a Mariachi Mass with the Archbishop.
