the "before" score

You Are 31% New Jersey!

You are not New Jersey, based on this score. You're probably not from this great state. And if that is true, then you are missing out, my friend!

How New Jersey Are You?

I'll take the quiz again a few months after I've moved to New Jersey for Novitiate to see if the score changes at all. I think I scored as high as I did because of a love of minature golf - something that is sadly lacking in the Northwest. Plus I grew up in Maryland.

Hi Susan!!

I hope you´re doing fine. We are, thankfully.

I had the chance of speaking to Jeffrey Burwell again in person, in an unexpected way, hehe. Last Friday night, my voluntary group (and me) were going on a end-of-the year meeting at the beach and our driver just did not show up (apparently the bus broke at the last minute). Therefore, some of us (15) had to spend the night at the Jesuit Theologate (where Jeffrey is staying) in order to go by public transportation at the possible earliest time in Saturday. We were after all, successful, and now a lot of us smile at the curious opportunity of meeting for a first time the Theologate in order to go to the beach, hehehe.

Back to Jeffrey, he´s got a few weeks left in Venezuela. I´m glad he´s telling the world about the experience, even if he´s traveling to other city (see his second-to-last post). As I read his accounts (and many others´) I reflect upon how much can we learn from our country from those who are living for a while on it. Are we really, as he says, a "police state"? Are we, as citizens, so accostumed that what seems normal, in reality should not be?

It is a strange, though, fascinating way, to stir up one´s mind (more so when it´s about issues we didn´t give more thought past one or two times). Thanks to him (and other fellow travelers who are writing in such a way) for that.

All the best.

Hi Estefania. Thanks for dropping by as always.

I think we can learn from every place we happen to find ourselves. And they can learn from us.

Whether it's a foreign country, or another state that feels like a foreign country!

(To other readers - Jeffrey's blog is Faith Seeking Reason. It's on the side bar).
