Schmelzer Inc Part Two
I love the Internet! With some internet sleuthing I discovered that my great grandparent's candy store was located on the same block where the Fox Theatre was built in 1928. Then I was able to find a picture of it (the theater - not the store). But I think their store was probably in one of the smaller buildings on the back of the block in the picture. Today of course the whole block is home to the very ugly Con-Ed building circa 1970.

My sis and I traced a lot of interesting family places after my Mom died. It really give you a connection to your ancestors.
