I'm taking a short break from the blog, as I head down to the Trappist Abbey in Oregon tomorrow for some private retreat time in preparation for vows. It's just a weekend retreat, I'll be back Monday. Until then (and always) ...

Can you believe the time for profession is nearly here? Know that my prayers continue to accompany you. As Bishop da Cunha noted in his August 16th homily, your public profession of vows is an expression of your YES to God's call "of your vows toGod inyour community through the Church." I celebrate you and your gift to God through the Church and wish you deepest Christ-peace as you are in these final days of preparation for your first profession and the beginning of a new chapter in your life as a "Sister of Peace," a Sister of Saint Joseph of Peace (CSJP).

Hrm. What's the public transit situation like out there? I'm guessing non-existent...(One good thing about the Camaldolese in Berkeley is that they're on a BART stop.)
