You Should Be a Fairy for Halloween |
According to our quiz, you'd make an ideal fairy. Your runner up costume: Gorilla |
In any case, Friday is Halloween and I will happily NOT be dressing up. This is after many years of forced group themed costume contests at work. Over the years I spent a day in the office dressed as a member of the Men in Black, Linus from Peanuts, Han Solo (that was great- just black pants with a red stripe, a vest and a blaster), Eyore from Winnie the Pooh, the Indian in Village People, Vegas Elvis in a White Jump Suit (I won best individual costume that year, but it was soooo embarassing), and the Magic 8 Ball (we won group costume for that gem of an idea). I could tell you what my former work group will be tomorrow for Halloween, but that's against the rules. Did I tell you it's a top secret Halloween Costume contest?
I'm just glad there is no dress up in my future this Halloween - neither a fairy nor a gorilla. Instead, I just get to hang out with some groovy sisters and have fun.

One Halloween I was in a new job. I was told everyone dressed up for Halloween, and so I did. The day started with a meeting, and about half were dressed up. then we went on to our duties and I realized that the half that were dressed up were those who worked in the back offices, and the half that weren't were those who worked with the public. Except for me. Because of family transportation logistics, I didn't have a car to run home and change at break.
How embarrassing!
And I should be either an angel or a belly dancer.
What about a fairy gorilla? Best of both worlds.
When teaching (in a Parish school) my class of 3rd graders studied The Saints during October. For Halloween we dressed as a chosen Saint. One of the games was to guess which saint each child was. It was fun and the meaning of the day was learned.
I am not much of a dresser upper for Halloween. Last year I was a teacher...which quickly got turned into people wanting me to torment my boss by taking a ruler and slapping it in my hand beside her..(they told me I looked like a nun and she is afraid of nuns...must be she hasn't meant any groovy nuns yet. just a note..>I didn't torment her...) :) Maybe someday i'll give her reason to change her mind. This year we had Dorothy, death, a devil...a good witch...ironman, which was clever and an Amish guy. ah yes...shennangans had by all. Last night I was out at the CLC and got to sing pumpkin carols with my groovy sisters. On of our organists is always looking for reasons to get a good song going.
