It's still snowing here at St. Mary-on-the-Lake. I think I'm not going to be going anywhere for a little while. I managed to get out Friday & Saturday during a 36 hour lull in the white stuff (see my baking retreat entry below). While I was out I stopped by my office and got some files so I could work from home tomorrow in case the weather didn't improve. It looks like that's what I'll be doing!
I'm living in a winter wonderland of sorts. At lunch today, we discussed how lucky we are to have heat and electricity (may it continue - they were without power for 2 weeks here last winter), a roof over our heads, and the company of each other. We are very aware of those who are out in the weather, those without homes, those who are keeping us safe and sound.
I had plans to visit with a friend from D.C. today, who is here visiting his family. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll be able to squeeze in a visit later this week. Instead I spent the afternoon working on some craft projects in our community room, while some of the other Sisters watched the Seahawks game. Anyone tuning in might think they were watching a green bay packers game with all the snow falling about! We're not really used to this kind of weather out here.
On my way back to my room, I stopped by the dining room to check on Sister Snow. She's been gaining some snowy additions to her attire as the snow continues!
Happy first day of winter everyone!
I hope you are all safe and sound.
Pray for those who are not.
Peace,
Susan
