Peace be With You

The Easter gems keep on coming. The readings this Season are a daily gift, so rich and full of both meaning and tradition. In today's Gospel, Jesus tells his dubious disciples (and us):

"Peace be with you."
But they were startled and terrified
and thought that they were seeing a ghost.
Then he said to them, "Why are you troubled?
And why do questions arise in your hearts?

I don't know about you, but those words strike me as powerful, comforting, and challenging.

There is so much that goes on in our world that startles and sometimes terrifies me. In the midst of pain and suffering and the silliness that only human beings are capable of doing to each other, I sometimes look around wondering ... where's God in all of this? My heart is sometimes troubled and filled with questions. But then I remember what Jesus said to the disciples in that upper room ...

Thank you for posting that. It is just the message I needed to hear right now. :) I have a lot of good...crazy things going on...so, could use a couple of extra prayers. I hope you had a blessed Easter!
