Sister Sukyi

Today Sister Sukyi Hur, CSJP professed her first vows as a Sister of St. Joseph of Peace during a Eucharistic Liturgy at St. Mary-on-the-Lake (aka groovy sister hq)! In the 5 plus years that I've been connected with the CSJP Community, I've attended four vows ceremonies (one being my own two years ago!). They are such moments of joy ... you can feel God's joy and our joy and everything that is good in our world at these special moments.

I am so happy to be journeying into the future of our Congregation and our religious life with Sukyi. She is such a gentle, prayerful, and healing presence in our broken world.

Congratulations Sukyi!

Dear Christina,

Thanks for the note! I just updated the post. I was in such a hurry to post the video last night of the profession part of the service, that I didn't mention it was part of a wonderful Eucharistic liturgy service in our Chapel. I was honored to participate as a Eucharistic minister.

Always such a joy to gather for prayer and celebration, especially on such a happy occasion!

Thank you for reminding me that a first profession is for everyone, especially the community, and not just the one being professed!
Coming up to my first vows it feels so overwhelming... it's good to remember that it's actually not about ME at all!
