Continuing the theme

Quick thoughts … busy day ahead at work today.

Continuing on the theme from yesterday's entry, the Gospel reading from today's Mass Readings is Matthew 28:8-15! (Fearful yet overjoyed. Although some other translations just say filled with joy.) Synchronicity.

More clues are in today's Psalm, which ends:

You will show me the path to life,
fullness of joys in your presence,
the delights at your right hand forever. (Psalm 16)

The trick I think is to on the one hand balance the fear with the joy, but eventually to tip the balance. In favor of joy of course. This psalm gives a clue on how to do this. God show us the path to life, with the fullness of joy IN GOD'S PRESENCE. We're just so good at ignoring God's presence!!!!

So at the beginning of this busy and challenging week, I pray for the wisdom to sense God's presence with me. The grace to experience the joy and peace that comes from Christ. And the courage to follow the path to life.
