Today’s Gospel reading is from Matthew, the Beatitudes. I’ve heard it said that the Beatitudes can be considered a self-portrait of Jesus. What if they were a self-portrait of ourselves as well? My prayer this evening is a simple one. It is to imagine a world that mirrors the Beatitudes, and to pray for its coming in my own heart and the hearts of all my brothers and sisters on Earth.
