funny life moments

  • I just got a visitor to my site who was led here by a search for …. ticklish pedicures! They of course were led to my post about someone who came here searching for very extremely so ticklish pedicures. My very own post modern blog moment!
  • I've been mulling over responding to a column in our local catholic paper by our Archbishop. I was literally composing a letter in my head when I walked into a local deli to get a sandwich for lunch and who was there, waiting for his sandwich looking extremely bored? Yup, himself. I was a good girl and left him alone. He's got a lot going on what with bankruptcy and all. Plus it was a good reminder that bishops are people too. They have to wait for their sandwich like everyone else!
  • Earlier today I had a meeting with my boss and her boss about the giant project I'm working on. They think I've got it all under control. Maybe I do? Or maybe they're just glad SOMEONE is making it all up.
  • And lastly, I just got news that an anonymous donor gave $3,000 to my parish, earmarking the money to our peace & justice commission (which I co-chair). Our parish really needs the money, and I'll admit it puts a smile on my face to know that our hard work is recognized and supported. So thanks Mr. or Ms. Anonymous!! We'll do good with it, I promise.

Peace to you all. I'll check back in on Sunday when I get back from Seattle.

Wow- I was just thinking some not so nice thoughts about anonymous people (I have had some anon. commenters on my blogs that of course, were spammers) and to read your post about a nice anonymous person- well, makes me feel kind of ashamed. I will not judge a book by his anonymous cover ever again! Seriously, though, Susan, that is so great to hear about your donation! Congratulations!

Well, I'm gonna be a bad girl and say something. ;) Maybe that was a golden opportunity to have a little face to face chat with his eminence, on neutral turf, even! Much better than an impersonal letter, and nothing easier than to say "I was just thinking about you..." Where better for a bishop to get a reality check than out in the "real" world, rather than when he's safely esconced in his own domain? He was practically served up for you on a platter with a pickle on top! Oh well, I'm sure when you become a groovy sister you will learn to be more annoying (in a respectful way, of course) to those in power. ;)
