radical tradition

Interesting quiz. The questions are somewhat amusing (and biased - although all the results seem to make assumptions about each possible group). As are the results. I especially like the advice in the 2nd paragraph! I always take advice from internet quizzes, don't you? ... My favorite class in college WAS American Radical Tradition. (It was a poli sci class). Second favorite class? People's Republic of China! (history class) Hmm.... maybe I am a commie pinko after all :).... I hated my feminist theory class if that says anything, although that was mostly the personality of the professor and my classmates.

You scored as Radical Catholic. You are "Radical" in its Catholic sense -- from the Latin word radix, or root. You are not just a "church person" but you are a disciple of Christ, making a total commitment to the Gospel, to voluntary poverty, and self-sacrifice for others. You give without counting the cost.

You need to be sure that you remain obedient to the Church and your superiors, and do not consider yourself a prophet or become elitist. Try to make good examinations of conscience and to be humble.

What is your style of American Catholicism?

Man, that was a seriously biased quiz. Can you say HUGE slant toward "traditional" Catholic? (said the flaming Liberal Catholic)And what's with the condescendingly trite advice? Psh. Silly me for getting my hopes up over an online quiz.

I took the quiz a while ago and it said I was a Liberal Catholic, and then it proceeded to give me the advice. Ick. Not 'ick' that I'm a liberal Catholic - which is debatable - but 'ick' that it lured me into such a trap.

I also tested as Liberal Catholic at 52%, closely followed by Traditional Catholic at 48%. The results were interesting, the *ahem* interpretation was not.

All you Liberal Catholics! Am I the only Radical one????

It's a lonely life. Oh wait, not it's not. That's why I'm joining a religious community :)

Yeah, I'm a liberal Catholic, too influenced by American culture (I don't get it, I'm always critcizing American culture). I thought I'd confuse the machine with my love of Gregorian chant & Vatican II, but it didn't bite.

The same person has a "What's Your Philosophical Anthropology" quiz. Apparently I'm a "clasical humanist." I was identified as boring and Catholic. Hmmm...

The categories and criticisms come mainly from Avery Cardinal Dulles. 'Neo-Conservative' and 'Liberal' both have his same criticism as being "too influenced by American culture". I scored Lukewarm, which is a category that I invented for myself!
