impossible things

In today's Gospel reading on this feast of St Andrew, Jesus said to Andrew & his brother (and by extension to us all) … Come after me, and I will make you fishers of people. (Matthew 4:19).
So simple and so powerful. So complicated and so scary. And yet they dropped their nets and followed him and the rest as they say is church history.

I also read today's reflection in my
Little Blue Book. Using the example of Zechariah who in his prayers asked for the impossible, it reminded me it's sometimes ok to think big when talking to the big guy. And then it asked me what the impossible thing is I want to pray for.

And it's simple. For the complicated to become simple. The scary to become less so. And the grace, strength and trust to follow him.
