hometown visitor

My site meter tells me that I had a visitor today from my hometown of Bowie, Maryland!!!

Greetings to my fellow Bowieite. Hope you enjoyed your visit and that things are going well in my old suburban stomping grounds.

What about the fact that the school I taught at before moving out to Nowheresville was in Bladensburg? Sure, it's not Bowie, but a whole lot of the folks lived there ...

I myself am a Rockvillian, as are my parents still, from deep within the heart of the Sniper's initial 1-mile radius. The bulk of my siblings are Gaithersburginians. Silly thing about it ... while teaching in Bladensburg, I was actually living in Columbia, which "technically" was suburban Baltimore -- but I taught 10 minutes outside the District line. Craziness, eh?

Did you teach at Catholic School? Not Seton by any chance?

Bladensburg High School by the way has been "temporarily" located in Bowie, down the street from my childhood home, for years while they've been doing archeological digs at the actual school.

I went to high school in Adelphi & Hyattsville, not too far from Rockville but still in PG County.

I don't know, what's this tell ya? :-)

Bladensburg High is still relocated? They were tearing that place up when I was around there, and I've been in the community over three years!
