Lauren asked what’s up. Well, I’m having a great time here immersed in community. The everyday-ness of life with the added burst that a holiday brings.
Yesterday I went over to groovy sister hq yesterday with Sr. M. She’s a nurse and offers foot care for some of the older sisters once a week. I just visited with some of my favorite sisters. My favorite moment was this announcement over the loud speaker: “The Salmon has been found. Christmas Eve is saved.” Now, you KNOW there’s a story behind that! I heard several but am not sure what the real one was! :)
Then accompanied Sr. Susan D (frequent commenter on this here blog). For some last minute Christmas shopping.
And finished off the day with a homemade dinner at fellow candidate Hellen’s local community. The added bonus being that Hellen cooked and it was delicious! Which means that at least part of the time I’ll eat well when I’m in novitiate!
That’s about it. Today is Christmas Eve and I’m looking forward to the assortment of activities. But first, I must get out of my pajamas. I slept late today!
Peace and a very merry Christmas eve to you all!
Susan
PS – I also picked up a little book at the library that I’m hoping will prove good inspiration for many a blog post. It’s from 1950 and is advice to girls considering religious life. So stay tuned!
