No, not a treatise on our current geopolitical situation or policies of our government (not that they don't lend themselves to a discussion of empire).
Jonathan (Franciscan Friar Extraordinare) asked me why Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars flick. Well ….
Han Solo
Han Solo and Leia
Yoda
The tension between good and evil
But basically, best movie of them all it is.

"Groovy Sister Reserves" is a silly term that describes my time living in community as a candidate with the Sisters.
"Groovy Sisters" refers to the Sisters of St Joseph of Peace. I think they're particularly groovy, hence the nickname.
As a candidate for vowed membership with the Sisters, the main point is to experience community living before you move on to novitiate and eventually vows. Normally, you live in community as a candidate, but are financially self supporting and keep your old job. My job is in Portland, and most of the community is 3 hours north in Seattle. So this would have been tricky for me. We've made an adjustment so that I spend 2 3-day weekends a month living with a small community of Sisters in Seattle.
I actually think it was another commenter (Mark Mossa of You Duped Me Lord) who came up with the "Groovy Sister Reserves" term. Kind of like Army Reserves. Just two weekends a month!
I love my time with the Sisters. I told my 4 year old Godson the other day that I have two houses … my apartment in Portland, and my weekend house with the Sisters in Seattle. He was very impressed, if confused.
I resemble that remark!
Yes, I think it was I that coined the phrase!
I also must agree that The Empire Strikes Back is the finest of all the Star Wars films!
More original and well-made than the first, and no Ewoks.
And the latest three just don't measure up.
Star Wars (a.k.a A New Hope) is often listed higher on best movie lists, but that's because of its significance in movie history. Empire is the better film.
