It’s been a crazy busy two weeks at the office. Luckily I managed a while back to get my head 95% back in business at work. (Regular readers will remember the problems I was having focusing on the job for, oh, a few decades or so it seemed). My heart is not there, which I think is just the nature of the animal. It’s set on new horizons. But as I said my head is there and I’ve been doing some good work. But it’s been utter chaos, with everything an emergency (or so people who make it seem), and everything a priority (which is not possible) and hourly interactions that make me go ARRR!
Which is why I’m SOOO happy I’m getting 3 whole work days (5 days if you count the weekend) away from the place. I’m sorry for my coworkers who will have to manage the chaos in my absence, but such is life.
Tomorrow is still work … I just get to go to an extremely boring day long off site bureaucratic training. Think Ferris Beuller’s teacher and you’ll be on the right track. But then it’s off for ….
… another exciting episode of Groovy Sister Reserves. After the training (which I’m hoping gets out early) I’m hopping in the car to drive to Seattle. I’ve got a meeting with my mentor, lunch with a friend, and a meeting with my formation director and fellow candidate on the plate for Friday. Saturday morning is a province formation meeting (which interestingly enough is focusing on finding God in the workplace). Otherwise I’m just planning to de-stress and visit with my sister housemates at my weekend groovy sister pad. And of course, Sunday is the Super Bowl, and 3 out of my 4 housemates are Seahawks crazy so it will be fun. (Speaking of, one of our other Sisters is a football prognosticator on the radio). I’m staying Sunday night and have Monday on vacation to make my way back to Portland in a leisurely fashion.
I’m sure I’ll be posting between now and then, but if not you know what I’m up to!

I hope you'll find Saturday's session on God in the workplace helpful. I imagine that it will be especially given how many of the Sisters' ministries are in "secular" spaces. I think it's something that as a community they work hard at finding.
Enjoy!
