spiritual alpabet a to l

Lisa tagged me for this meme a while back. I'm finally getting around to it. Enjoy it for what it's worth, and play on your blog if you are so inclined.

[A is for apparitions - your favorite]: Don't know that I have a favorite apparition per se, but Our Lady of Knock did play a key role in the story of our founder Margaret Anna Cusack.

[B is for Bible - the one you read most often]: New American Bible, although I prefer the translation of the New Revised Standard.

[C is for Charism - the one you would most like to have]: Peace through Justice, which is of course the charism of my groovy sisters

[D is for Doctor of the Church - your favorite]: Teresa of Avila and Catherine of Siena

[E is for Essential Prayer - What’s yours?]: Sitting meditation and community prayer with the Breviary.

[F is for Favorite Hymn]: Let's make that hymns. God Beyond All Names, There is a Longing, O Word of God

[G is for Gospel - your favorite author?]: Matthew.

[H is for Holy Communion] Never ending gift.

[I is for Inspiration - When do you feel most inspired by God?]: Those "thin spaces" moments, as Marcus Borg describes them, when God breaks through. This can be on a meditative walk, working in ministry, holding a baby, etc.... The mystery is you never know when you'll stumble upon a thin space.

[J is for Jesus - When did you first meet Him?]: Every day my relationship with Jesus grows and changes and sometimes it seems as if I just met him.

[K is for Kindness - Which saint or person has most inspired you by their kindness?]: Dorothy Day.

[L is for liturgical year - your favorite time in the liturgical cycle?]: Triduum.

Just posting to agree that Marcus Borg rocks. I had the opportunity to hear him talk at our church about a year ago, and i was just blown away. His books (and marrying an Episcopalian) were what got me back into Christianity... :-)
