just one of those paradoxes

More wisdom from our groovy founder, Margaret Anna Cusack:
Though we must give up all human dissension if we would have eternal peace, we cannot have that peace without conflict. This is just one of those paradoxes, of the apparent contradictions of the gospel, which is wisdom to the little ones, and foolishness to the self-wise.

There is no peace without conflict, and in order to have peace we must combat. Let us think a little about this threefold peace, which is so easy, which is so desirable, which is necessary to be obtained.

We must have peace with God. This is indeed the source and the foundation of all other peace. When we have peace with Him, nothing has any real power to disturb us; and hence there is nothing which can deprive us of our peace. “Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation? or distress? or famine? or nakedness? or danger? or persecution? or the sword? … But in all these things we overcome because of Him that hath loved us.
