Pray for Peace in Kenya

I am safely ensconced in my friend's house in Portland. I'm keeping in touch by e-mail with one of my fellow novices who is from Kenya. She is obviously very concerned with what is happening back home.

The election of Mwai Kibaki as president in Kenya has created increasing unrest and violence. The election is presumed to have been rigged. There are reports that 100,000s have left their homes, hundreds have been killed, including 50 burned in a church. The rioting, looting and burning continue. I just learned that one of my fellow novice's neighbor's was killed in the violence. She is rightly worried about her family and friends, as well as the future of her country. Kenya has always been the most stable democracy in Africa, the one that receives refugees from violence and genocide in its neighbors.

Please join me in praying for peace in Kenya:

Peace Prayer for Kenya
Amani na iwepo duniani.
May peace prevail on earth.
Kenya na iwe na amani.
May peace be in Kenya.
