In the sidebar (under the new cartoon picture of me) I've added a little reader's poll. Please take a minute and let me know why you visit this little corner of the blogosphere!
If you choose "other" as your answer, please leave a comment here to let me know why you're visiting. By the way, you can enter more than one category if applicable.
Peace to all my bloggy friends,
Susan

Hi!
I took your survey... I chose "other" as one option because I stop by here for support from someone else in formation. It's nice to read reflections from someone who is a young adult in formation. It helps me put things or keep things in perspective.
So, I really appreciate your blog!
I hope you're well...
I find it interesting to get a glimpse into how a modern young woman navigates her way in consecrated life. I had wanted to be a religious once myself, but now am too old to consider that calling. Besides, you are an interesting person.
I chose other.
I visit because I enjoy reading your insights into life and the world.
I read your blog occasionally because I like to keep informed of the various points-of-view within the Church, particularly among the Church’s consecrated members.
By the way, I wish you all the best as you prepare for vows!
Mostly, I just like to have a few feeds in my bloglines from folks who believe in God and are trying to keep close to Him. Especially those who see working for justice in the world as part of keeping close to Him.
You don't know what a difference that makes to me, as I struggle to try and be Christian.
Plus -- at least in this blog -- you cultivate a kind of "geek" (in the best sense of the word) persona, and that makes me identify with you a little. I'm more than a bit geeky.
I love the cartoon pict! I see the resemblance :)
It won't process my "other" response. I came through a sequence of events. I heard Sr. Julie interviewed on NPR and started visiting her blog. Then when I pointed out Sr. Julie's blog to my friend who is a member of your community, she found you among the bloggers listed. So I started visiting you as well. It helps me relate to some I know, and I feel that I have come to know you, too.
I am waiting for the time you have taken your vows, and are able to dig deeper into your pocket and discuss the social justice issues.
Thanks Everyone! Blogging is weird because you write for an audience you never see. It's nice to know why folks come here, and even who some of you are!
PNTS - I've never thought about "cultivating" a geek personality. I just AM a geek! Happy to meet another one in the bloggy world.
Peace everyone!
The poll is open through next week.
As someone who reads your blog because I know you in real life... I must say that whoever wrote that they think you've cultivated "geek" seems to have really hit the nail on the head, what a compliment! Our Discerning Woman threw the best Star Wars party that is still talked about almost ten years later, and when she told me she was thinking about becoming a nun it seemed like the most natural thing for her to do. I know it's been a challenge for her, but I think her inner geek helps her process. As Yoda would say, "A Jedi's strength flows from the force."
I am another Christian who is trying to discern God's call in my life. My path is different but still there are similarities and I find it helpful to see how others are doing it.
I, like Sr Nicole, am a fellow novice who comes by here seeking wisdom and a breath of fresh air... It helps to know that while there are many differences, our experiences are also often similar. Thanks!
