Sunday thoughts

I've been laying low this weekend - getting ready for a busy week. We're starting a young adult justice book group at my place of ministry Wednesday night. Thursday night I'm giving another presentation on the topic of human trafficking. Saturday we're having a Lenten Reflection day here at St. Mary-on-the-Lake. It's on the 7 Last Words of Jesus, and we have 7 Sisters & Associates giving the reflections (I'm #3).

Hence, I've just been relaxing this weekend which has been good.

The time is just flying by these days. Easter will be here before you know it, and then the summer! What is they say? Time flies when you're having fun?

Nothing major to share nor any wisdom to impart. Just thought I'd check in with my bloggy friends.

Peace,
Susan

PS - Two great articles on our human trafficking work in the Seattle Diocesan Paper. One on the bus ads, the other on the presentation to the 8th grade at a local Catholic School.

Dear Susan,
I'm always happy to hear about others who are working in the area of Human Trafficking. I'm part of a coalition in the Boston area. I wrote about the group in my February 10 blog post: http://asisterofstjoseph.blogspot.com/2009/02/yesterday-i-was-at-meeting-of.html and expect to be posting more about what our congregation is doing in the near future.

I've been following news converage of what you are doing in your area with bus advertisements and other activities. Good work!

I've had several reporters contact me about how we are using the interntet to reach out to people. They usually want to talk about vocation promotion activities but I also talk about how we use the internet to raise awareness of human trafficking and other issues.

We're hoping that our bus ad campaign will be a pilot project and that people in other cities will organize one in their area.

We've got a "tool kit" we can send you - complete with the graphics we used - if you're interested.
