Let us at least endeavor to meditate attentively, during this week of graces, upon his seven-fold gifts, that we may better profit by them. And first let us meditate on the gift of wisdom. .. It teaches us what is truly wise and what is really foolish, and it enables us to act upon our knowledge. …

The fruit of this wisdom is peace. Peace is the beatitude of heavenly wisdom, and spiritual consolation its special reward. If we have only one end in view, and if that end is God, we shall never be disturbed, our peace will be continual and abiding.
