I've got several dear ones facing difficult and varied life challenges. Job losses. Unexpected changes. Divorce and other relationship stressors. Surgery and cancer treatment. The list goes on. I can't fix anything for my dear ones. I can merely be present. And I can pray. I am reminded by these words from our CSJP constitutions ...
The weight of suffering and opression borne by so many people today ... cries out to us for action. (constitution 21)
We value the ministry of presence as an important dimension of the gospel of peace. (constitution 18)
