Pecking tin

We have a neighborhood wood pecker or other similar bird who for some reason enjoys pecking bits of metal on our house and the house next door. I haven't heard him for a long time, but this morning as I was praying he started doing his own thing.

It got me wondering ... how often do I waste time "pecking tin"? Not literally of course, but I certainly am guilty of misdirecting my efforts,  almost blindly at times.  That's when my efforts actually defeat my purpose.

Although who knows,  maybe the bird has a reason for pecking on shiny metal bits!

Lovely to see a sister from Seattle! I work for Seattle ARchdiocese in Benefits. We too have woodpeckers. I learned they are staking out their territory!
Blessings,
Sue

That makes total sense ... marking territory!
