Peace Be Upon You

Bloggy friends ... I'm off for a few days to visit the nieces (and their adult parental units) in the great state of Alabama.

While I'm gone, visit the blogdom's resident
Hebrew Scholar Talmida. She has a great analysis of the hebrew word "shalom" and the verb "shalem." Well worth the read.

Also on this Mothers' Day Weekend - how many of you know about the original pre-hallmark meaning of the day? Read Julia Ward Howe's Original Mother's Day Proclamation from 1870. Here's a teaser:

"Arise, then, women of this day! Arise all women who have hearts, whether our baptism be that of water or of fears! ... We women of one country will be too tender of those of another country to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs. From the bosom of the devastated earth a voice goes up with our own. It says "Disarm, Disarm! The sword of murder is not the balance of justice."
Blessings!

Susan,

Congrats on your new road. I just recently came fully back to the church. It sure is difficult, but I have a lot of faith. The best to you on your journey and I hope it is what you expect.

God Bless!
