post it wisdom

Long ago in an office cubicle not so far away (the same one I call my work-a-day home today in fact), I got into the habit of writing down little bits of wisdom that I ran across onto post-it notes which I would then tape to my computer monitor. Kind of like little bread crumbs, they would help me find my way back to a place of sanity and spiritual wholeness when I went to far down the path of anxiety or too caught up in work drama. Well, this afternoon I was looking for a long-lost memo in the piles on my desk and instead found my stash of post-it-note wisdom. This one jumped out at me, although I have no idea of the source. It might be from Joan Chittister's online psalm journal which I was following for a while. In any case, it's perfect for the space I'm in right now and so I'm affixing it to my monitor and sharing this little bit of wisdom with you fair and gentle readers:

"What we need is a sense of trust and praise for the obscure parts of our own lives."

Thanks for the link to the psalm journal. I just bookmarked it so I can spend more time with it.
