Still on the computer in the college computer lab waiting for Hellen to get out of class :) ... A change to be at a keyboard when I'm supposed to waste time, rather than wasting time on the computer when I'm supposed to be working! Must make progress on that next week when I get back to the office.
Speaking of Progress ... there's an article about the two Sisters making their profession this weekend (and about me & Hellen becoming candidates) in the Northwest Progress (the Seattle archdiocesan paper). Sent the link to my Dad. He always thinks things are more real when he reads about them in the paper!
Margaret (who is making first profession but who was actually in community many years ago and is returning) will be one of my housemates in my local community. I'll spend my first weekend with them in two weeks.

Ah, exciting news Susan ! I am so happy that you are joining the groovy sisters. Say hi to my 5th grade teacher if you see her: Sr. Mary Thorne...she is one of my all time favorites.

I agree ... Sr. Mary Thorne is great! She now works at groovy sister hq making all manner of things go smoothly. If you're ever in Bellevue you should stop by and say hi. I'm sure she'd love to see you.

I went to St. Michael School in Trail BC where I first met the 29 year old "singing nun" Sr. Mary when I was in 2nd grade. We reconnected rather suddenly again when I moved to Bellevue to attend Seattle U's nursing school, and the place I was living in was broken into while I was there. I phoned the only person I knew in this whole area: Sr. Mary. I will never forget her pacing in the fog with her blue fuzzy slippers and bathrobe at 4 am in the morning waiting to give me shelter at the convent. I woke up hours later to find my car had been broken into right outside the convent. Sheesh...she was a terrific support then, as she always has been. The groovy sisters are definitely my heroines, and I'm so glad you are joining up with them ! And yes, a visit to St. Mary's is definitely on my to-do list this fall. Thanks for all your good reporting on your adventures with them :)

That SO sounds like Mary Thorne. I can picture her pacing in her fuzzy slippers, coming to the rescue.
December 10th (a Saturday) there's an advent reflection day at St Mary's open to friends and the larger community. Might be a fun way to recollect. Sr. Rose Anna Marti will be the facilitator. And we could meet! If you send me an email at susan [at] francois [dot] org I can send you some info!
