no obligation

I woke up on the post-modern side of the bed this morning. And so I share some thoughts via my blog about blogs, spurred on by a npr story I heard by a blogger about his blog and the blogs he doesn’t read.

There’s not a transcript online, but you can listen to the commentary by David Weinberger. To paraphrase what I remember, he was lamenting that he doesn’t have time to read all his friends’ blogs. He doesn’t expect them to read every word of his blog, but feels that their feelings are hurt when he doesn’t know every minute detail of their lives from reading their blogs.

So let me set the record straight … you don’t need to read my blog. It’s here if you are so inclined. Every word is not profound, although I like to think there are occasional glimmers. ;) ... Quite often it’s just silly blathering. It is an experiment, a calling if you will. I blog because I feel called to blog. Nothing more. Nothing less.

So I welcome you to the virtual version of my thoughts. Feel free to browse around. But there’s no obligation!

On that note … off to work for me! Have a good day everyone!

I'm glad you blog. I'll read as often as I can. :)

Whew! I'm glad that load's off! :)

I actually hope people don't read everything I post!

Thanks A.

Mark ... me too! It's always a bit disconcerting when you share some news with someone (in person) and they say "Oh yeah, I read that on you blog." Especially when you had no idea they were one of your "loyal readers."!!

As one who's been bloggily absent for a couple days (and will be again at the end of the week) .... thanks for letting me off the hook.
